Mrs Briggs brought her rabbit to school to show us. It hopped all around the room!

Caterpillars

We have caterpillars crawling all over the classroom! One has already made a chrysalis and one is forming the u shape!

Smart Board

Oh my goodness! We are having SO much fun on our Smart board! I can see the children are going to love having this in the classroom. There are many ways in which they can be actively engaged in their own learning, which is brilliant. Have a look at some of things we did today.

Earthquake commemoration

Today at 12.51 we let balloons go into the sky to commemorate the people who lost their lives in the earthquake.

Caterpillars

We have lots of caterpillars in our class. Over the next few weeks we will watch them grow and change.

Buddy Reading

We are having buddy reading with the Year 6 class, once a week. They are really nice!

SPCA visit

Today we had a visit from the SPCA who talked to us about being kind to animals. They brought a dog, Sasha, and a guinea pig for us to pat!

I-Pad stories

Today we used the I-Pads to listen to stories. We all took turns turning the pages. Such fun!

All about me books

All week we have been compiling books all about ourselves. They will be kept at school to start with, in our library corner, but children will eventually bring them home. Come in and read them together!

Great spelling!

Spelling

Today we learnt to spell 'me' and 'mum' using crayons. We also used the stylus pens on the iPads for the first time. We have to use 3 fingers to hold it!
